Fitness Training Tips
Successful fitness training is about more than a simple list of tips. We understand that we can’t just say: here are some great tips, now go get fit! That’s just not how it works. However, we can give you some great tips on how to get started on your own so you feel confident coming to us for your personal training and nutrition coaching. So, without further ado, here are some of The Triple D Fitness Group’s favorite training tips:
1. Healthy Eating Is The Backbone Of Any Training Goal.
Getting fit is all about what you put into your body, whether that be time, energy or food.
Bottom line – you need good food for a good workout.
2. Healthy Eating Doesn’t Mean Stop Eating.
Building muscle and getting rid of fat takes a lot of energy, and where does your body get energy? That’s right, FOOD!
Rule of thumb – Three meals a day is never enough.
3. Form Matters!
There is a reason that there is a “right” way of doing each movement, and that reason is to make every motion in that exercise matter. Of course your trainer will help you perfect each movement but it is always good to practice good form at home (even without the added weight).
4. Goals Get Results!
Sounds cheesy right? Well, it’s not. Setting goals and holding yourself accountable can be one of the strongest forms of self-motivation there is.
But remember – If you reach a goal, you deserve a reward!
5. Notice The Little Things.
You are only as strong as your weakest link. Which mean you have to pay attention to the little inconsistencies in your training, and be accountable for combating those weaknesses!
6. “Pics Or It Didn’t Happen”
A cliché saying, but very helpful when you are in training. Pictures help you get an idea of where your body is at without having to rely on the dreaded scale. Fat and muscle weigh differently, which means the scale lies, pictures, on the other hand, can’t!
7. Learn About Carbs.
Because carbohydrates can cause your body to store fat, a lot of people cut them out prematurely. It is important for you to take control of your own health and learn about what exactly carbs do, when to avoid them and when it is ok to indulge.
8. HYDRATE YOURSELF
Not only does your body need water to function, but you need water when you are training to ensure that all of those toxins and fats you’ve burned are being washed out of your system, and all the nutrients you’ve put into your body are being absorbed.
It’s not rocket science – drink water.
9. Get Your Head In The Game.
We can push you to your limits, but the fact of the matter is that your head has to be in it if you want any results to come from your hard work. Training is hard, and it does not get easier. That’s the point. So get ready, get prepared, and let your mind take over when you muscles reach fatigue.
10. Follow Through.
Follow through with your motions, follow through with your committed workouts, follow through with your diet, just… FOLLOW THROUGH! Every aspect of training is equally as important as the next, which means if you want results you have to give your all to each and every thing you do–whether it is before, during or after your workout.
The key – You get out only what you put in.
